Sub Focus has come to the forefront of the UK Drum and Bass scene with huge tunes such as 'Could This Be Real' and 'Let the Story Begin' off his self -titled album. Nick Douwma has certainly been breaking down barriers and contributed to bringing D&B to the mainstream. He has branched off from just producing D&B and is now dabbling in a range of different genres (c. Could This Be Real). The mainstream music industry has become much more accepting of re-defining work that blurs genrees and allows artists to express their own personal style without being shunned. This has certainly affected Nick's production style and he is pushing the limits whatever genre he finds himself in. Another hit of his album 'Splash ft. Coco' will be Zane Lowe's record of the week tonight for good reason. The original is a powerful yet melodic tune that is simply put, a pleasure to listen to. I will post the vocal mix once it is released.
